This painting was a departure from the detailed painting that I had done in the past. I treated this painting as a drawing and used an ink roller to build up layers, leaving a ghostly shadow in the background.
My studio is currently located in Belmont house, nestled in the botanical campus of Falmouth University. Rose Fox hill gardens are also a short walk down the hill. One of my favourite plants found amongst Falmouth is the Echium Pininiana, which can sprout meters high (pictures below).
